MOTHER'S DAY SPECIAL: The Down and Dirty of Labor & Delivery with Nurse/Professor Dana Merk

Episode Summary

We're really doing it! We've asked a qualified and experienced nursing professional ALL the questions we could think of about birthing babies. And yes, everyone poops.

Episode Notes

Dana Merk, MSN, RNC-OB, C-ONQS, C-EFM, CBC is a board certified nurse and educator with 12 years of experience as a labor and delivery nurse in a high-risk perinatal center as well as a current professor at DePaul School of Nursing. We asked her ALL our questions about the down and dirty of labor and delivery, including birth plans, rips, tears, placentas, membrane sweeps, inductions, pushing poops, and cervical checks.

Cats in the delivery room and sexual encounters during labor? Don't worry, she has stories you'll want to hear! Plus, we share some of our own birth stories and Dana shares her special journey with the adoption of both of her sons.

Listen in, take breaks as you need them, and celebrate motherhood, in all its different forms! HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!
